Certified Organic Qvevri Wine from Georgia

A family winery and vineyard located in the heart of Alazani valley and Kakheti, Georgia – the epicentre of Georgian wine.

Our story

During a family dinner in 2005, we gathered to celebrate a special occasion. During a toast about love, family and passion – a discussion regarding a true organic winery and vineyard started to unfold. After some time and planning, we found the perfect place in the village of Gulgula near Alazani Valley – the epicentre of Georgian wine in Kakheti. Today, Biomarani is one of the first fully certified organic vineyards in Georgia.

Our wine philosphy

We take pride in being one of the first EU certified organic vineyards from Georgia specialising in qvevri wine. We use traditional Georgian production methods in qvevri (dating back 8,000 years) and only harvest endemic Georgian grapes. Organic agriculture, sustainability and traditional Georgian viticulture is something we truly believe in and we welcome visitors, friends and families from all over the world to explore our wines.

“A very positive surprise. I tried both the red Saperavi and the white Kisi and there was nothing of the almost brutal, raw wine feeling, that you sometimes meet in qvevri. This wine is made with great knowledge and lots of love. The result is a smooth and enjoyable wine. Especially the Qisi became a favourite!”

“Kisi is an excellent wine, that has a really nice amber color. I would almost like to describe it as a rosé with a touch of oak. I combined it with a nice cod and vegetables.”
